China’s President Xi Jinping has asked the army to be prepared for the war. Xi Jinping called this while addressing the soldiers of Southern Theater Command (Southern Command) of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Looking at the tension over South China Sea and North Korea, his statement is considered important.
Being the General Secretary of the President and the Communist Party, Xi Jinping is also the President of the Central Military Commission. He visited the Southern Command on Friday and took stock of the preparedness of the army. This command is located near the South China Sea. The Chinese President also talked about the need for a military-ready army to accelerate the process of setting up a joint command.
He instructed the soldiers to increase the information related to the preparations of the war, to follow the changes in the situation and to work for increasing the capability of the war. The President also called on the Army to end corruption.
He said that 2017 is very important for the country. As President, the first term of five years of Xi Jinping is ending this year. At the end of the year, the 19th Congress has the full potential to be sealed for the second term.
There is a situation of confrontation with countries such as Philippines, Brunei and Vietnam, about rights in South China Sea. The situation has become more serious due to the involvement of America in this dispute. China has built an artificial island in South Sea and has also deployed weapons on it.
