Chennai is transforming public spaces into pop-up art galleries, 'Wall of Celebration'

Usually, not many people come into galleries to look at the artwork. The common thought is that they can’t afford art or understand art, so it is not their cup of tea. So as an alternative to that notion, the director of Splatter Studio, K Senthil Ram decided to launch an initiative that would take art to public spaces.

On February 14, he will kick off the ‘Wall of Celebration’, an opportunity where artists can display their work at a short-term venue on a monthly basis.

“The idea is to make sure that a lot of people get an opportunity to showcase their artwork at various venues,” states Senthil, including that he wants to take works of art out of the four walls of a gallery to where the general public can view it.
