Amarnath pilgrims have been attacked on the bus in Anantnag of Jammu and Kashmir. Six devotees were killed in this attack, while 7 devotees were injured. Just before the Amarnath yatra, intelligence agencies shared information related to the terrorist attack on June 25 with the police administration. It is revealed that the bus on which the terror attack happened was not registered by the Shrine Board.
Amarnath Yatra started from June 29. Even before the start of the trip, intelligence agencies issued an alert for the terrorist attack. According to intelligence input, terrorists have been instructed to target Amarnath pilgrims and police officers. Terrorists can try to create communal tension across the country by attacking Amarnath piThe highms.
High alert was issued only after receiving intelligence input. Along with additional vigilance on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, security arrangements were tightened in southern Kashmir. IG (K) had asked all the security agencies to be alert. In spite of this, the terrorists attacked the passenger bus on Monday around 8 o’clock.
