1SEX REDUCES STRESS
Did feeling stress? Some sexual healing could be just the relief you crave. Based on a research performed at the University of Paisley in Scotland and published in Biological Psychology, when subjects had sex, their blood pressure responded less to stressful activities (public speaking and mental arithmetic) than when they involved in other sexual activities or none at all.
2SEX BURNS CALORIES
Alright, we can’t state that sexercise burns up as many calories as jogging or an aerobics class, but having between the sheets for an hour will shed about 275 calories (for a 150-pound person). Now, don’t expect to have it to impact the scale that much you needs to burn 3,500 calories to lose a pound. But every small bit helps; and it’s a heck of a lot more fun that sit-ups.
3ORGASMS CAN HELP MINIMIZE PAIN
If you’re considering of resting on that old excuse, “Not tonight, honey, I have a headache,” probably you should re-think. In her book, The Science of Orgasm, co-author Beverly Whipple, points out that at orgasm, the “love hormone” oxytocin rises and there is a noticeable reduction in the level of sensitivity to pain, to about 50 percent that of the relaxing level. And despite the fact that reduction of a migraine via orgasm is less efficient and effective than relief through prescription drugs, the medication effect is more rapid.
4SEX CAN BOOST YOUR IMMUNITY
In the book Feeling Good Is Good For You, co-author Carl J. Charnetski refers to a research he and other scientists carried out at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., where they requested 112 men and women about their regularity of sex and calculated the level of an antibody called immunoglobulin A (IgA), which can protect from colds and flu. People who revealed having sex once or twice a week had higher IgA numbers than all those who had sex less than once a week or not at all. They also had greater measurements, nevertheless, than those who had sex 3 or more times a weeks to why IgA reduced after a specific point, Charnetski speculates it may be a situation of too much of a good thing, or probably the more sexually active group was using sex to cover up for doubt or anxiety over the state of the relationship.
5SEX CAN MAKE YOU LOOK YOUNGER
Forget about lotions and potions. The top secret to the fountain of youth lies in between your thighs. David Weeks, a clinical neuropsychologist at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland and co-author of Secrets of the Superyoung, carried out a 10-year study including 3,500 people and discovered that men and women who revealed having sex an average of four times a week looked around 10 years younger than they really were.
6SEX CAN HELP LOWER MEN’S RISK OF PROSTATE CANCER
In 2003, a study group led by professor Graham Giles, director of the Epidemiology Centre at the Cancer Council Victoria in Australia found that the more often men between the ages of 20 and 50 ejaculate, the less likely they are to develop prostate cancer. Men in their 20s who ejaculated on typical seven times a week or more were one-third less likely to develop competitive prostate cancer when in comparison with men who ejaculated less than three times a week at this age.
7SEX CAN STRENGTHEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP
Maybe sex can’t fix everything, but the oxytocin released in the course of orgasm gives about pair bonding, describes Milhausen. Data in a study Milhausen conducted also shows that sexual satisfaction and relationship satisfaction are interconnected.
